Aged 18 to 25 and still want to enjoy your Scouting?  You can by joining Scout Network!  Our Network in Ealing & Hanwell is called Scorpions.

As a Scout Network Member you get to take part in all the usual great Scouting activities such as kayaking, climbing, orienteering… as well as work on projects helping to support the local community. You can also, if you choose, get more closely involved in working with the younger Sections and providing them with the same kind of opportunities you’ve had through Scouting either by becoming an occasional helper or perhaps a leader.

The advantage of being a member of Network is that wherever you are in the UK you can go along to your nearest Network Unit. You may be moving away from home, perhaps going to university, you can carry on Scouting through the Scout adult Network by informing your ADC (Network) or ACC (Network) that you are relocating. They will be able to put you in contact with the Network/s for the area you are moving to and pass them your details. Importantly they will keep you up to date with what’s going on at your ‘home’ Network.

Another option is SSAGO, the Student Scout and Guide Organisation.  SSAGO has branches at many universities and is open to all students at university or higher education colleges in the UK.

With Network the emphasis shifts from a badge and award-driven culture to one that ensures that all young people experience a quality programme covering a wide range of subjects. The program covers three Self Development Areas

  • International
  • Community
  • Skills and Development

How this achieved is as much down to the members as it is the Leadership team.

Additionally we provide the opportunities to continue towards achieving Queen’s Scout Award, Duke of Edinburgh or Explorer Belt.

Alastair Richards is the ADC (Network) for Ealing & Hanwell so if you have any questions or want to sign up then email him at
