Latest Development News - 05/01/2009
After our 2008 AGM the 1st Stoke Poges Air Scout Group gave a presentation on their current state of affairs. They have grown recently and their HQ which is in Church grounds in the village is now old and past its useful life and in addition the site is required by the Church for a building programme. Their lease also expired several years ago.
They would like Ealing and Hanwell to consider a proposal that they be allowed to build a new HQ on our campsite, whether to replace the lair or maybe an additional building would be subject to planning approval. The new HQ would be available to Ealing and Hanwell, with extensive facilities such as enhanced storage to replace the containers and a Beaver Scout sleepover room.
How the ownership would lie and the many other questions are a matter for future discussion.
Whilst the Executive have signified their approval for the proposal to be tabled, I am now asking for the views of the District for the way forward. It is, after all, YOUR District and YOUR campsite.
Basically the question to you is - Do you agree the proposal ad agree this should be progressed futher?
Please send your answer to anthonyphillips@ealingandhanwellscouts.org.uk by 15th October 2008
Further to this poll, I am pleased to announce that the District have agreed to enter discussions with 1st Stoke Poges and have formed a sub-committee under the chairmanship of Geoff Mules
Please also bear in mind it will be very difficult to answer any questions at this stage as we have only seen the presentation that is below (click on the icons to open):
