Swimming Gala 2009
This year, for the first time, the event was held in the afternoon instead of the evening and was reasonably well supported, with all Cub Packs and all but one of the Scout Troops represented. All the races saw great competitiveness with a lot of prompting from parents, friends and leaders.
7 Beaver Colonies thoroughly enjoyed themselves in the recreational pool, but again the numbers were down on last year.
I would like to thank all the competitors and their Leaders for their support in making this a really great afternoon’s entertainment.
My thanks also go to all my team for their much appreciated assistance, especially to Mary Power for organising the Beavers and our PA system provided by Sam Wright from Eastcote.
Hopefully the new start time will catch on and we will see even more Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders taking part next year.
