District Secretary - Anthony Phillips

  District Commisioner - John Foxwell

Hi, I’m the district commissioner for Ealing and Hanwell and took up this role in September 2008. I was a cub and a scout in the district at the 4th Ealing in the 60’s and then went on to join the Alpha venture scout unit before leaving to go to sea in 1969. When my two sons joined the 7th Hanwell I became the scout leader there in 1992.

Started Scouting as a Cub Scout with 8th Hanwell in the Community Centre, moved to 7th Hanwell in 1957. By 1963 was a senior Patrol Leader who spent the summer in Greece at the 11th World Scout Jamboree in Marathon. While in the Senior Scouts gained my Queen Scout and became the Assistant Scout Leader to the 7th Hanwell in 1965. I became the Scout Leader and eventually the Group Scout Leader. Over the 22 years being away on a Summer camp and at least 2 weekends each year. In 1987 became a Deputy District Commissioner and lately the Appointments Secretary.

Elected Member - John Sear (ADC - Scouts)

I, like many others, became involved in the Movement when my 2 sons were in the Cubs and Scouts, as an interested and supportive parent.  THis changed when the GSL and, sadly departed, dear friend, Roy Haynes, persuaded me to take on uniform.  I became Scout Leader of the 5th Hanwell in 1977 and later GSL for a short period, and from 1985 was also DSL, a position I held until three years ago when I was apointed ADC.

Awards - As well as holding the 15 and 25 year long service awards, I received the Medal of Merit in 1989 and the Silver Acorn in 2006

Elected Member - Paul Phillips - Acting Campsite Manager

I started my scouting career as a cub at the 1st Hanwell in 1985 and was a Scout after that. I left Scouts and had a break of about 8 years and then, after visiting a Cub Camp agreed to join the 1st again as ACSL. I moved up to Scouts due to lack of leaders as an ASL and then Scout Leader. I am currently GSL at 1st Hanwell and am also the Webmaster and Acting Campsite Manager for Ealing and Hanwell District
