Churchill is the Ealing & Hanwell unit responsible for delivering the Young Leader training scheme. The purpose of the Young Leader scheme is to teach young people between the ages of 14-18 how to be effective Leaders when they are helping out at a Section. The training is based around 11 modules, covering a lot of similar subjects to the Adult Training Course. The members of Churchill are Explorer Scouts first and foremost and the District Explorer Scout programme is available for them to take part in, and indeed any Explorer in the District can also be a member of Churchill.

We aim to teach important skills to our Young Leaders, to enable them to be effective members of the Leadership Team at their Section. We hope that the training and support they receive as Young Leaders, will encourage them to take a fully Warranted role as Adult Leaders once they reach the age of 18.
